Organize a potluck without ending up with three bags of chips
Everyone has been to that potluck: five people show up with chips, nobody thought of dessert, and the one promised salad lives in a Messenger thread nobody can find anymore. The shared-meal idea is simple; it's the coordination that falls apart.
Qui apporte quoi? fixes exactly that: you create your event, build the list of things to bring in seconds (suggestions come pre-checked ideas for your occasion), then share a single link. Each guest opens the page, sees what's still missing, and publicly picks what they'll bring: “Sophie brings a salad”. No account, no password, for you or your guests.
And since everything happens in the open, nobody wonders: what's taken is displayed, what's missing stands out, and the table fills itself.

How to organize a potluck in four steps
Create your event: pick the occasion (Christmas, corn roast, BBQ, brunch, birthday, office, or other), give it a title, and add the date, time, and place if you know them.
Build the list of things to bring: check the suggestions offered for your occasion, add your own ideas, and set quantities where more than one is needed (“we need 3 salads”).
Share the public link with your guests: by text, email, or in the group chat. One link, sent once.
Guests pick what they bring, with just a first name. Everyone sees what's taken and what's missing; the day before the party, an email reminder goes out to everyone who left one.
Free for up to 20 things to bring per event. After that, $5.99 CAD once for that event, no subscription.
Why not a group chat or a spreadsheet?
The group thread works for about eight messages. After that, Aunt Diane's reply is buried under memes, two people are both convinced they “called” dessert, and nobody dares nudge the group a third time. A shared spreadsheet solves part of it, but you have to explain it, format it, and good luck on a phone.
A dedicated potluck page shows one thing: the table. Every item is either open or taken, with the first name of whoever's on it. A guest arrives, gets it in three seconds, picks something, done. And if someone wants to bring their famous shepherd's pie that wasn't on the list, they can propose their own dish, right on the page.
The day-before reminder does the rest: everyone who left an email gets a “It's tomorrow!” with what they promised, and the host gets the full picture of the table. Nothing gets left on a counter.
Frequently asked questions
- Do I need an account to organize or join a potluck?
- No account at all, neither for the host nor the guests. You receive your organizer link by email; your guests pick what they bring with just a first name.
- Can guests see who's bringing what?
- Yes, that's the whole point of a potluck: first names and dishes are shown on the event page so everyone can coordinate. Emails, on the other hand, are never displayed or shared.
- What if two people pick the same thing at the same time?
- The first one wins, and the second gets a friendly message: “someone just took it”. You can't end up with two people both convinced they're bringing the same salad.
- Can a guest bring something that isn't on the list?
- Yes. The “I'll bring something else” button lets them propose their own dish, which joins the table with their first name, in the category of their choice.
- How much does it cost?
- It's free for up to 20 things to bring per event, which covers most parties. Beyond that, unlocking costs $5.99 CAD, once, for that event, with no subscription.
